SUMMARY:Goule Shines at Central Champs
DESCRIPTION:\n\nNatoya Goule of Manchester High was the star on the first day of the 2010 Milo Central Athletics Championship being staged at the G.C. Foster College\, as she accounted for two of nine meet records.\nNikita Tracey of Edwin Allen High set the first record of the day in the girls' Class One 400 metres hurdles open. She clocked 58.80 seconds\, shaving one-tenth of a second off the previous mark set by Shana-Gay Tracey of Holmwood in 2007.\nFirst record\nThe stage was then set for Goule\, who claimed her first record of the day in the 3000 metres with a time of 10:31.82\, erasing the previous mark of 10:32.10 which was set by Neisha Morgan\, also of Manchester High\, in 2008. She returned in the 800m Class One to post a record time of 2:12.01 to erase the previous mark of 2:12.83 set in 2008 by Bobby Gaye Wilkins of Holmwood.\nThe records came as a surprise for Goule.\n"It feels great\, I never expected to break any records. I just came here to run so I am very happy to break two records\," said Goule.\nSix other records were broken. Sixteen-year-old Kemar Bailey-Cole of Old Harbour High smashed the Class One 100m records\, as he clocked a time of 10.58\, obliterating the previous mark of 10.75 which was set by David Dunn of Glenmuir in 2008. In the girls' Class Four 100m\, Natallia Whyte of St Jago High raced home in a time of 11.97\, eclipsing the previous mark of 12.16 which was set by Chrisann Gordon of Holmwood in 2008.\nRecords were also set in the boys' Class Two and One 800m. Brian Smith of Clarendon College topped Class Two in 1:57.53 while Kevin White of Holmwood clocked 1:52.00. The Class Two girls' discus and the Class Two girls' 4x100m records were also broken.\nThe points standings at the end of day sees defending champions Holmwood Technical leading the girls with 146 points after 19 finals. Edwin Allen were just behind on 145 points\, with St Jago High next on 132.5.\nSt Jago High lead the boys section after 13 finals with 123.5 points.
